Carrick Speedway has a long history and tradition, with the first race being held in September of 1968, and we are very proud of our heritage.
There is an abundance of old programs, videos and memorabilia scattered around, and we have been fortunate enough to acquire a lot of it.
Over the next few months, we will be scanning, restoring and displaying as many old programs, posters, log books and paperwork as we possibly can, to give an insight into our long history.
These documents make for fascinating reading, with some of the biggest names in Tasmanian and Australian Speedway making an appearance. One in particular that focuses on the history of Tasmanian speedway is the Spotlight on Tassie Speedway (1964-1976), which covers the first 12 years of racing, including all tracks, as well as highlighting some of the biggest names of the time.
They can be downloaded as PDF files, and are search-able (i.e you can search for drivers name)
