The proposed calendar for the 2011 / 2012 Carrick Speedway season has been released and published in the calendar on this site. Link HERE
Gate prices, times and classes racing are still subject to change, but at this stage the calendar is correct.
Highlights include two rounds of the National Super Sedan Series (Jan 20th and 25th), the South pacific Sprintcar Classic (10th & 11th March), the Easter Cup (7th & 8th of April) and two 'Club Events'.
Club events will feature all classes except for Super Sedans and Sprintcars.
"We are trying something different this season" explains track promoter Keith Blair. "By running a few nights with just the support classes, we will be able to run the meetings at a lower cost, and therefore passing the savings onto the spectators."
Gate prices for the club events will be:
Adults - $15
Concession - $10
Children Under 16 - $5
Family (2 Adults, 3 Children under 16) - $40
"They might not have the drawcard classes (Super Sedans or Spriintcars)" says Keith, "but it will be great value for money for the spectators, and a chance for the support divisions to share the limelight".
At this stage, the two club events will be held on the opening round of the season, October 15th, and the 25th of February.
"If they prove to be successful, then we can look at implementing more of them in the future."
The site calendar has a search function, enabling users to quickly locate the race dates for certain classes. Simply click the search icon, enter the class, such as wingless or junior, and all race dates for those classes will display.
